There are some exciting things happening this year for our team in Western Australia. St Hilliers has recently been awarded the construction of the Ellenbrook Youth Centre for the City of Swan.
Once complete, the centre will provide counselling, financial advice and employment training focusing on the health, wellbeing and development of young people aged 12-25.
Young people have been consulted to help with the planning, design and implementation of public space and community facilities.
Works will include the construction of a single-storey community centre which will include conference rooms, a community office, plant room and amenities in the north wing as well as a multi-use space, computer rooms, kitchen, passive space, a sensory space, a creative studio, amenities and a staff and nurse station in the south wing.
St Hilliers, the City of Swan and Hodge Collard Preston Architects are currently in the initial stages of building a permanent place for young people in Ellenbrook to connect and build life and work-related skills.
This project is jointly funded by the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries, Lotterywest and the City of Swan.
