Emerging Contaminants & Environmental Remediation

Commonly referred to as “forever chemicals” PFAS does not break down in the environment – or in our bodies.
As emerging contaminants are increasingly detected within the communities we work, St Hilliers is adapting to provide ‘environmental remediation’ services to our clients. Engaged in the design and delivery of multiple Sewerage Treatment Plants (STPs) with high levels of PFAS in QLD and NSW, St Hilliers is committed to training and upskilling our staff to ensure the safe disposal of the dangerous contaminants.
St Hilliers representatives working on STP projects recently attended the Australasian Land and Groundwater Association’s ‘PFAS Workshop’ in Sydney. Hosted by industry experts from across the globe, the workshop discussed toxicology, and innovative PFAS related research. Presenting crucial information to organisations at the forefront of PFAS remediation, the workshop explored anticipated priorities and the impact of of the contaminants on real world projects. Highly informative, our team took away valuable lessons that they will apply to St Hilliers remediation-focused projects.
St Hilliers has the pleasure of working alongside Environmental Consultant, and MC of the Workshop, Andrew Mitchel, from ADE. Engaging industry experts like Andrew, St Hilliers plans to lead the way within the construction industry and continue our mission of “building the future” with a focus on sustainability.
