The results are in for the 2018 Top 40 Defence Contractors and Top 20 Defence Small-to-Medium Enterprises (SMEs) with St Hilliers making a significant rise up the ladders since we made our debut on the lists two years ago.
We are now place 24th in the top 40 of all Defence contractors and 2nd in the Small-to-Medium enterprises list. This is a significant accolade for the business as we continue to build upon our Defence capabilities across Australia.
For the first time the survey also included a non-mandatory question on the percentage of females in the workplace. Of the companies that have nominated their percentage, St Hilliers made it into the top 40 and is placed 3rd for construction companies. This is a testament to our commitment to our equal opportunities policy and the importance we place on creating a balanced work environment across all areas of the business.
Our current projects span across five states and 12 different Defence bases and range from the construction of training facilities, through to maintenance and upgrade works across the PDS Program.
The survey results also indicate a strong upward trend in Defence business with the total turnover in 2018 exceeding $12 billion which represented a 24% jump in growth from the previous year.
With the Defence industry continuing to grow and the Government’s continued commitment to maximising opportunities for Australian business, St Hilliers is in a positive position to continue supporting the Defence industry and engage with local subcontractors and suppliers on future projects.
