Swapping Hard Hats for Gardening Gloves

Our St Hilliers Brisbane team have rolled up their sleeves and gotten their hands dirty, taking part in Legacy Brisbane’s ‘Backyard Assist’ program. Assisting vulnerable widows in cleaning up their homes and gardens, each Legacy project is proudly supported by members of the Australian Defence Force.

Legacy recruits and coordinates volunteers to assist struggling families in need of a helping hand. Widows often lack the time or physical ability to manage their yards, becoming overwhelmed by the amount of upkeep required.

Swapping out hardhats for gardening gloves, our staff returned the lovely widow’s garden to a manageable state; the team loved getting involved in this fantastic community initiative and found the work to be incredibly rewarding.

As long-term supporters of Legacy, St Hilliers regularly take part in volunteering opportunities and look forward to helping out at our next Backyard Assist, scheduled in October.

Special thanks go to John Butler, Lynda Hartley, and Ellie Jacobs for representing St Hilliers and donating their time to help those in need.
