St Hilliers designed and constructed this mixed-use development, which combines luxury residential, high end hospitality, retail and commercial space. The project consists of two integrated 12 storey towers and a public hotel featuring a Caribbean resort theme. St Hilliers worked collaboratively with the client and consultants to achieve the high quality finishes required for the development, which is intended for the high-end residential market.
The first tower includes 108 apartments with garden apartments on Level 2 and penthouses to Level 12. Tower two has 76 apartments for short stay accommodation and garden apartments on Level 2. A large post tension transfer slab on Level 2 of the towers, separating the apartments from the commercial and retail areas below, was a major feature of the design and construct project. The towers were constructed over a three level basement car park with 458 spaces. The hotel spans over 2,000 square metres and is located at ground level and on mezzanine levels. The area includes bars, dining facilities, conference rooms and function rooms with ocean views.
The scope of works also included:
- construction of 987 square metres of retail tenancies
- nine commercial offices with separate entry foyers for each building
- extensive landscaping
- internal and external swimming pools and gymnasium facilities.
To achieve the hotel’s Caribbean resort theme, St Hilliers worked closely with the designers to select specific materials for the structure and landscape. These materials provided a rich layering of natural tones and textures for the feature wall on the western facade of the Sutton Street building. This feature wall is highly visible and identifies the development from afar.
