This industrial development in outer Western Sydney has M5 and M7 motorway access. The site includes the Coates Distribution Centre, a warehouse with two speculative units and shared infrastructure for the existing Woolworths Distribution Centre to the rear.
The 50,000 square metre site comprised 30,000 square metres of 180 mm thick hardstand and road infrastructure and 20,000 square metres of office and warehouse facilities.
The infrastructure component involved the upgrade of in ground services for the existing DC to the rear, ensuring minimal disruption to the operation, as well as servicing the newly constructed facilities. Existing access roads were upgraded and conjoined to new roads and associated car parks and landscaping. Also included in this package was the design and construction of a 700, 000 litre on site detention tank.
The design and construct contract consisted of structural steel framed warehouses, precast concrete dado panels and metal cladding. The office structures were a combination of conventional concrete construction and structural steel portal to the upper floors. The offices were clad in curtain wall and aluminium composite panels.
