Seymour College’s Defence Memorial Garden

In late 2021, St Hilliers team in Puckapunyal donated materials and labour to assist Seymour College in the construction of a Defence Memorial Garden. Driven by the school’s Year 12 VCAL students, the community reached out to St Hilliers for support with the initiative. With over 60 students from military families enrolled in the College, the Memorial Garden was designed to honour Puckapunyal Military Base and to commemorate those who have served in the Defence Force.

We are pleased to announce that after months of hard work from Seymour College’s students, the Memorial Garden is complete! Damian Leggat, our Project Administrator in Puckapunyal attended the grand reveal on May 6th alongside Michael Roberts, St Hilliers’ Defence Lead. A former student of Seymour College, Michael was thrilled to take part in the ceremony, delivering a speech on the significance of the garden, as well as its link to Defence history in the area. Congratulations to Seymour College’s students on delivering a fantastic project, as well as to our team in Puckapunyal for assisting. Special thanks must go to ACE Contracting, C&S Plumbing, Oak Park Tullamarine and Hanson Australia for donating their time, materials and labour.

Well done team!
