The House and Home project involved the development, design and construction of a 39,000 sqm bulky goods retail centre to provide for 60 tenancies over five levels including two levels of car parking.
The construction utilised a reinforced concrete structure with Bondek formwork and post tensioned slabs. Precast panelled walls were also used on the facade of the centre, which also featured a steel and glass atrium. The early works involved the bulk excavation of 100,000 cubic metres of rock.
Eight lifts, eight travelators and two escalators were also installed throughout the centre as well as an underground stormwater system with a million litre detention tank.
