The primary objective of the Project is to achieve a safer, simplified and assured fuel network by addressing current and immediate deficiencies in the Defence Fuel Supply Chain, and risks and issues identified in the Defence Fuel Network Review.
Completion of the project will seek to address current and immediate deficiencies at the DFI (A). Works associated involve:
- Upgrades to existing instrumentation and automation (DB upgrades to accommodate new PLCs)
- New vapour venting at the offloading and dispensing bays including new vent stack
- Replacement of the existing site air compressors with new air compressors including shelters
- Replacement tank high level switches and fail-safe inlet isolation valves
- Upgrade to tank venting systems
- Improvements to product sampling and waste/recovery system including new sight glasses, new tundishes and air diaphragm pumps
- Modifications to existing tundishes
- Tanker overfill protection system added
