This Project involved the design and construction activities required to ensure buildings comply with the National Construction Code, Australian Standards, the Defence Manual of Fire Protection Engineering and all other applicable Codes, Standards, Acts, Regulations and Legislations.
The general project scope elements included:

  • The design and construction of Fire Safety rectification works;
  • The investigation and confirmation of works previously undertaken for compliance to the National Code (BCA), relevant Australian Standards and the Manual of Fire Protection Engineering;
  • The design and construction of general building works; and
  • The design and construction of Bush Fire Safety upgrade works.

St Hilliers’ thorough understanding of the dynamic and constantly evolving site ensured a flexible construction approach was taken to accommodate any changes in Defence’s activities, while maintaining safety throughout the service delivery. Before commencing work St Hilliers’ facilitated meetings with all contractors to examine areas where, without proper planning, potential disruptions to Base operations could occur. Following this, regular coordination meetings were conducted to ensure efficient communication was achieved and any conflicts were avoided between the various project stakeholders.
