






St Hilliers undertook the development, design and construction of 151 East on a 2,200 square metre site in Bondi.
The residential development comprises 74 apartments over two low rise buildings of five levels built around a central courtyard. A small area of retail is part of the development and is located on the ground floor.
Construction of the two level basement carpark provided St Hilliers with a major challenge as this involved excavating the sandy site to a depth of eight metres, which was two metres below the water table.
Contiguous piles on the site boundaries formed the basement wall. Potential movement of neighbouring properties was identified as a major risk and was closely monitored throughout the project.
With the project located in an established residential area, St Hilliers implemented a management plan to ensure access to the site, materials handling and construction noise did not cause major disruptions to the neighbourhood.
