Celebrating Torres Strait Islander Culture

It’s great to see our team at the Lavarack Barracks celebrating Torres Strait Islander culture!

Senior Project Engineer, Kevin Fuji, prepared a spread of self-caught seafood for our North Queensland project team to enjoy; including fresh mackerel, painted crayfish, shrimp lined sausages, fresh prawns, and green turtle, sustainably hunted from the Torres Strait Islands.

Discussing Kevin’s culture over a spread of traditional foods, the Townsville team gained valuable insight into the life of their teammate and developed a new sense of appreciation for the Torres Strait community.

Well done team!
