Breaking ground at Belmont Private Hospital

Yesterday, St Hilliers commemorated the turning of the first sod on our Belmont Private Hospital Stage 3 project in Carina, Queensland. Delivered on behalf of Healthe Care, the project is part of the larger Belmont Private Hospital $21m extension and refurbishment works package.

We were delighted to have Queensland Mental Health Commissioner, Ivan Frkovic, MP Member for Chatsworth, Steve Minnikin, Belmont Private CEO, Mary Williams, Dr David Hartman and Dr Mark Spelman join us for the ceremony.

This much-needed facility will include a purpose-built women’s centre to treat more patients affected by perinatal mood disorders. The new six-level building at the front of the existing hospital will dedicate two storeys to hospital wards, one to consulting suites and include three levels of carparking.

It will alleviate critical gaps in the region’s private mental health services and support early intervention.

The addition of 35 beds and 5,300sqm of floorspace during Stage 3 will make Belmont Private the second largest private mental health facility in Australia, bringing the total beds to 185 and square footage to 14,000sqm.

Our team can’t wait to see this project come to life over the next 12 months.
