A Day in the Life of a Soldier

At a past Legacy Gala, St Hilliers bid for and won the opportunity to attend the Gallipoli Barracks’ ‘Exercise DIAMOND WARRIOR 22 (DW22); a 7th Brigade directed, unit-executed annual community engagement activity at Gallipoli Barracks. Hosted by the 6th Battalion The Royal Australian Regiment, a team of St Hilliers staff members were geared up in Disruptive Pattern Camouflage Uniforms (DPCU) and taken for a ride across base in an Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC).  Following an immersive capability display of weapons and platforms, the team observed a live fire practice at the 25m Range and participated in Dome simulator training.

Joined by an intimate group of key stakeholders and members within the Brisbane Defence community, participants were provided with an insight into a ‘day in the life’ of an Australian soldier. Thank you to Legacy Brisbane and the Department of Defence for facilitating this once-in-a-lifetime experience!
